Problem:
When launching the application you see the normal application window, but it is then filled with white - occasionally with a numeric percentage displayed in the top left corner - e.g. 98%.
Alternatively, you may receive an MSVCR80.dll error such as that below:

Cause:
There are several potential causes, the most common are:
- Running the software from a UNC share (check the shortcut properties).
- Running the software when logged in as an ActiveDirectory domain user that has the folder %APPDATA% redirected to a server.
- Executing the software with very limited user privileges.
- Error trapping on buffer overflow
- .NET framework 2.0 dll mapping (typically presents as Office 2007 and/or Windows Defender MSVCR80.DLL issue)
- Execution on Windows Vista
Solution:
Note - the following solutions are for site-licenced products.
In most cases, you will simply be able to run the product from a local (C: drive installation.)
Alternatively, use a mapped network drive to host the applications. See http://centraal.uk.knowledgebox.com/kbase/idx/40/181/article/ for information on hiding your mapped drives if required.
