How can I deploy applications using RM CC3

First download the MSI’s here (more than one version of each has been included as networks vary greatly - a version works on one network wont necessarily work on every network):

RealPlayer 8

RealOne Player 2

RealPlayer Enterprise

Sun Java VM v1.5.0

Sun Java VM v1.5.0_03

Flash Player 8

Flash Player 9

Acrobat Reader 6

Acrobat Reader 7

The above apps need to be unzipped and the whole folder structure placed in:

Q:\RMPackages\Applications

Open the RM Management Console

Right click on ‘Main Site’ and choose 'Update Package List'

Test the apps by deploying them to one workstation:

In the Management Console double click a workstation click the

'Packages' button

Select 'Available Packages' from the 'Status' drop down menu

Highlight the apps required in the list

Then press Allocate

Then Press OK

Now restart the workstation, wait for the apps to install, log in as a user and test KnowledgeBox.

If this works with no problems you can now deploy the apps to all workstations. This can be done usually on a site wide basis by right clicking on ‘Main Site’ choosing ‘Properties’ and deploying the apps as above.

You will then need to restart all workstations.

TroubleShooting

If you have problems with one application you will need to uninstall it from the test workstation by opening the properties for the workstation, selecting ‘Allocated Packed’ then press ‘Dealocate’

Reboot the workstation and let the app uninstall.

Then try another version of that application (see downloads at the top of this doc) and redeploy that app to the test workstation as above and test again.

Once you have deployed the apps you will need to deploy an RM icon:
