16 bit Windows Subsystem error
Fault:
An error occurs under Windows XP when the CDROM autoplays. The text of the error message dialogue is:

16 bit Windows Subsystem
C:WINDOWSSYSTEM32AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.

Cause:
This issue may occur if one of the following files is missing or corrupted:

  • Config.nt
  • Autoexec.nt
  • Command.com

Fix:
You will need to replace those missing or corrupted files from either your Windows XP install CD, or from C:WindowsRepair.
