Knowledge Base KnowledgeBox Troubleshooting Why is the content on my KnowledgeBox not updating itself?

Why is the content on my KnowledgeBox not updating itself?
This article applies to:

KnowledgeBox version: 1.5
Browser versions: all

It will be advisable first to check when the last time the KnowledgeBox carried out a successful content update. Please refer to this article How_can_I_check_that_my_KnowledgeBox_is_backing_up_and_getting_latest_content_and_updates

If the network and internet are fine, there are two probable causes for this problem. One being the update timings may be set to Minimum in which case Content will not be updated automatically (please refer to the article How_do_I_change_the_Backup_and_Content_updating_timings_on_my_KnowledgeBox) The second cause may be a ‘stale’ lock file which blocks requests for updates. Have a look at this article on How_do_I_view_andor_remove_lock_files. This article will explain what a lock file is and how to tell if it looks like a lock file that’s turned ‘stale’.
