Knowledge Base CD-ROMS Pelican Interactive Big Books ... is not a Director File

... is not a Director File
Applies to:
All Pelican Interactive Big Books
Windows

Problem:
When attempting to run the program after installing to your computer, you receive an error stating that a file is not a Director file (typically Pearsons.dxr). The program cannot continue.

Cause:
The installation has been affected by an instance of anti-virus software actively scanning the installation process.

Solution:
Manually virus scan the CD, then suspend your antivirus software, before uninstalling and re-installing the software.

If you cannot suspend the antivirus software, manually copy the files from the CD (held within the 'Program Files' directory) to the matching location on your PC, overwriting the old files.
