What type of KnowledgeBox server do I have?

This article applies to:

KnowledgeBox version: any
Browser version: any
Operating System version: any

There are currently four types of KnowledgeBox server.

Appliansys CacheBOX

This is a silver cuboid caching server with the KnowledgeBox logo and a small power button on the front.

On the back, there is a fan, a power socket and a network port.

Equiinet CachePilot

This is a flat cream caching server with the KnowledgeBox logo on the front.

On the back, there is a power socket, and several network ports. The correct one for KnowledgeBox is the red LAN1 port in the middle.

Appliansys King Yung

This is a small silver rectangular box, with the KnowledgeBox logo.  It has only KnowledgeBox on it.

On the back, there is a fan, a network port and a power socket.

Freedom2 Basic and Caching (Both boxes are physically the same)

The front of the box is fairly bare. There is the power button, which should only be used to power on the box and not to be used to power off the box (powering off the box should be done through the web interface). There are also two light, which are blue in colour. The bottom blue light is to the left of the power button and this is the power light. The upper blue light only lights up when the hard drive is active.

Here you can see that the Freedom2 box has three RJ45 network ports on the back of the box. The port that is normally used is the one on the card in the centre as indicated by the red arrow. Some boxes use the on board adaptor located just above the USB slots.

There are two serial numbers used to identify the box. The silver sticker on the inside near the PCI expansion slots as shown above, or the large KB serial sticker which is either on the side of the box or on top.
