What is KnowledgeBox?

From a technical standpoint, KnowledgeBox is a "database driven intranet web site". It is hosted on a dedicated web server which is installed on the school's LAN.

The KnowledgeBox user interface is accessed using a web browser and can be accessed from any machine on the LAN which has the correct browser plugins and hardware specification.

Additionally, the KnowledgeBox edge-server communicates with KnowledgeBox central servers over the Internet on a periodic basis. This allows the KnowledgeBox edge-server to download content updates and system patches.

Additionally, KnowledgeBox will back up all data on the edge-server to the KnowledgeBox central servers on a regular basis.
